Welcome to Western Peaks Elementary - Surprise, AZ!
Western Peaks Elementary is a preschool through 4th grade school in the Dysart Unified School District. Opened in the Fall of 2006, our vision is to educate children using best practices and 21st century learning, motivate students to display great character in a safe learning environment, and innovate learning by developing critical thinking and real world applications. As a primary school, we emphasize teaching foundational skills to master the grade level standards, building a solid reading foundation and strong math skills so that students will have the core skills necessary to be successful as they progress to middle school.

Located to the northeast of Greenway Road and the 303, Western Peaks provides an excellent educational experience for families in the Surprise Farms, Bell West Ranch, Bell Pointe, and Northwest Ranch communities. Families outside of our boundaries are also welcome to apply for open enrollment to Western Peaks, if you are looking for an exceptional primary school for your K-4 children.

At Western Peaks our Falcon Family is respectful, responsible, and kind! We implement the PBIS system to positively recognize students with Falcon Wings when they are following our school wide expectations to be respectful, responsible, and kind in all areas of the campus.

What is PBIS? School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (SW-PBIS) is a whole school three-tier approach to decreasing disruptive behaviors and increasing student success. One of the foremost advances in school-wide discipline is the emphasis on school-wide systems of support that include proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. Instead of using a piecemeal approach of individual behavioral management plans, a continuum of positive behavior support for all students within a school is implemented in areas including the classroom and non classroom settings (such as hallways, buses, and restrooms). Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (school-wide), secondary (classroom), and tertiary (individual) systems of support that improve lifestyle results (personal, health, social, family, work, recreation) for all children and youth by making targeted behaviors less effective, efficient, and relevant, and desired behavior more functional.
