Job Description

Work with school faculty and staff, students, parents, and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program at school assigned. Counsel students to fully develop each student’s academic, career, personal, and social abilities and address the needs of special population’s students. Serve as district testing coordinator.

Education/Certification:

Master’s degree in guidance counseling or in process of completing
Valid Texas counseling certificate
Valid Texas teaching certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development
Knowledge of community and state post high school resources
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Knowledge and service of special needs of students
Knowledge and service of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process
